
I have restored it to when it was still working well with no effects, and launching safe mode still does not allow app launching or event viewer launch. An error window would keep appearing upon startup (wmpnsfg.exe system error - click ok to terminate program) and various programs will not launch (chrome, iTunes immediately crashes, event viewer and even windows diagnostics will not launch). It seemed to be working okay for a day, but when I came back today after installing a few optional Microsoft security update fixes, it started acting up again.
